Spectacularly beautiful cliffs, a viewpoint in Pimiango, unique in Asturias, from which you can see both the Picu Urriellu and the immensity of the Cantabrian Sea, a cave – the Pindal cave – declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco, with an Interpretation Centre very close to the hermitage of San Emeterio, and everything making up a complex of truly striking natural beauty. In the surrounding area, a short walk away, the Monastery of Tina, whose ruins bear witness to a past of pilgrimage and devotion that even today keeps alive the flame of spirituality and telluric strength of an area that has always been linked to the Camino de Santiago de la Costa.
Outside the coastline, the capital of the council, Colombres, preserves the largest and best-preserved collection of Indian architecture in the whole of Asturias, which is clearly represented in the Quinta Guadalupe, the headquarters of the Indianos Archive Foundation – Emigration Museum. All this without detracting from the examples in other villages in the municipality, such as Villanueva or Noriega, where the Noriega Tower symbolises the origin of the many medieval lineages in the area.
